What are the Mariner Preliminary Results in the Mil-2-Mariner (M2M) tool?
The Preliminary Results section is made up of two pages – the Calculations Summary and the Mariner Preliminary Results.
The Calculations Summary page is based on the all of the information you previously entered into the tool and shows you your total creditable sea service based on your military-related sea experience as well as any other maritime experience entered. It is where your sea service and other qualifications are measured against the requirements for Merchant Mariner Credentials, accounting for your sea service, completed training and other related maritime experience.
The Mariner Preliminary Results page compares your creditable sea service, training, and other qualifications against the requirements for Merchant Mariner Credentials. The results display which requirements you currently meet, as well as any gaps you may have. You may apply for all or just some of the credentials for which you qualify depending on your career goals. Some credentials have courses in lieu of a Coast Guard exam.
