How do I save my progress?

To save your work, click Save Progress on any page of one of the customized tools (Engage My Career, Cyber IT/CSWF, or Mil-2-Mariner). This allows you to download an encrypted session file and save it to a location of your choice on your computer. MilGears uses this data file to store your progress so that none of your personal information is stored online.

The first time you download a session file, the tool you are using (Engage My Career, Mil-2-Mariner, or Cyber IT/CSWF)  asks you to set a password. This password is applied to your encrypted session file to help ensure that only you have access to the data you enter into the tool. Any time you save your session on future visits to MilGears, it will use that same password to save your session. We cannot recover passwords for you, so be sure to write it down or choose something you will remember.

Session files can be used across tools. As an example, if you create a session file within Engage My Career, you can also upload it and use it to fill in information for Mil-2-Mariner or the Cyber IT/CSWF tool.
